japan trip 2010

hi all, sorry for the long pause. its been almost 6 months since my last post. since then, we went up north to celebrate christmas, new years, zuki and the misses went to japan, i got laid off the day before i went to japan, went to japan and came back, and now looking for work.

you figure with all the free time i have, i should be posting more but zuki keeps me busy (she also likes to type on the keyboard when i'm on the computer, so i can only be on the computer when she's asleep). here are our pics from our japan trip. since then, we haven't been doing much so i don't have any more recent pics. but here are plenty of pics to keep you occupied.

zuki watches a japanese children tv show with these costume characters. when she saw some large stuff toys of them at the mall, she went nuts.

they had already gotten married at city hall before and this was just a ceremony.

weird thing about the wedding...
after the bride and groom says 'i do', they take a small hammer and hit a nail on this plaque with their name plate on it. i think its supposed be proof that they got married in this chapel (which was inside a hotel).

this is zuki's great grandfather. the dude is 96 years old.
he gave a speech that lasted like 30 mins.
no one had the courage to cut him off

zuki's meal looked better than what i got.
she got fried shrimp, fried rice, croquette and french fries.

we took zuki to the kobe zoo to see some animals

we went to the museum of nissin, the home of cup-o-noodles

through its lifetime, nissin produced hundreds of different types
and flavors of cup-o-noodles

...and it all started in 1958 with chicken flavor

at the museum, they have a 'create your own cup-o-noodles' factory.
you buy a cup, wash your hands, decorate your cup, pick your ingredients, the cup-o-noodles is assembled and packaged.

and i think you can chose up to 2 extras

did you know there is an intentional space below the noodles. this allows the hot water to cook the top ingredients but not overcook the noodles. its all been researched and tested.

at the end of the museum, there's a lunch room where you can eat your 'just made original cup-o-noodles' or you can buy something else...
...like cup-o-noodles?
