day at the zoo

i took a forced day off from work because i had 1 floating holiday left and it was either 'use it or lose it'. so i took the day off and took the family to the LA zoo. it wasn't the best zoo (i think san diego might be better), but for $13/person, its a cheap getaway.

the zoo was a bit of a disappointment. there wasn't so many animals there. there was 1 elephant but they were remodeling his area so we couldn't see him. lots of birds, monkeys, and deer like animals. and most of the animals were usually sleeping, hiding, or didn't care when you visited. ah wells, at least zuki got her exercise running around.

zuki didn't want to pet the rabbit. ah wells, maybe later.

1 hippopotamus. 1 lonely hippopotamus.

someone heard a roar and got excited...

the tiger was probably the best thing about the zoo. the 1 lonely tiger.

'excuse me, can you look at me when i'm talking to you?'

there were a few giraffes. they came so close you can almost touch them.

a few zebras that looked really bored.

all the walking around and animals made zuki tired.
